910 PM CDT Thu Aug 15 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of North-central and northwestern Illinois * Effective this Thursday night and Friday morning from 910 PM until 300 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...Clusters of thunderstorms may organize to severe levels as
they move eastward over the Mississippi River from IA, and into a
favorably moist and unstable air mass. Damaging gusts are the main
concern, with isolated large hail also possible. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70
statute miles east and west of a line from 35 miles south of Peoria
