URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 576 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1155 PM CDT Tue Jul 30 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Central and Western Iowa Eastern Nebraska * Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 1155 PM until 700 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter likely Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to form during the overnight hours across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, tracking across the watch area. Very unstable conditions will promote a risk of a few severe storms capable of large hail and damaging winds. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles north and south of a line from 50 miles west of Tekamah NE to 25 miles north of Ottumwa IA.
