URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Tornado Watch Number 422 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 805 PM CDT Sat Jun 15 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Tornado Watch for portions of Western and Central North Dakota * Effective this Saturday night and Sunday morning from 805 PM until 200 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... A couple tornadoes possible Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 85 mph likely Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...A couple of isolated severe thunderstorms are possible early this evening. Large to very large hail and a tornado are possible with this activity. A band of severe thunderstorms is forecast to move from west to east from western into central portions of North Dakota later this evening into tonight. Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...A squall line will move northeastward into the Watch area this evening. Severe gusts (60-75 mph) are possible with the more intense portions of the squall line as it likely progresses west to east across much of the Watch area. A tornado is possible, especially with any longer-lived mesovortex circulation embedded within the line. Large hail may accompany any more discrete storm on the south flank of the evolving thunderstorm activity during the evening, as well as perhaps a brief risk for a tornado. Kite surfer spells out word ‘HELP’ on a California beach
CALE FIRE said a kite surfer was rescued off a beach north of Santa Cruz after becoming stranded. He used rocks to spell the word âHELPâ and was eventually spotted by a private helicopter company. Firefighters eventually hoisted the man to safety on a nearby cliff.
