URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 371 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1025 PM CDT Sat Jun 1 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of West Central Texas * Effective this Saturday night and Sunday morning from 1025 PM until 300 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely SUMMARY...A cluster of intense storms over northern Mexico will track eastward into the watch area tonight, posing a risk of locally damaging winds and hail for the next several hours. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45 statute miles east and west of a line from 65 miles north northeast of Del Rio TX to 55 miles east southeast of Del Rio TX. The Xinhua News Agency reported Saturday that Chinaâs Changâe-6 successfully landed on the Moonâs south pole. The lander will gather several ponds of material before a capsule will dock with an orbiter and return to Earth.

A ridge of high pressure that been in control of Mexicoâs weather in combination with a building ride over the Pacific will shift northward and will mean triple digit heat for the Southwest. Temperatures are expected to peak at upwards of 120 degrees at Death Valley National Park.
