Ready or not, the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season is here. NOAA put out a forecast with the highest number of storms ever for its May predictions.

A global shortage of oranges from growing regions in Florida and Brazil has caused prices to spike. The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimated 70 percent of the fruit produced in Brazil is used for juicing.

Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75 mph possible Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...A cluster of thunderstorms over west Texas will track southeastward for the next several hours, posing a risk of locally damaging wind gusts and hail. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles east and west of a line from 25 miles west northwest of Childress TX to 15 miles east southeast of Midland TX.
