SpaceX's Starship rocket exploded Thursday night less than 10 minutes after its launch from Texas, showering debris over the Caribbean and western Atlantic and giving millions of skygazers across Florida and the Caribbean quite the show.

SpaceX conducted its eighth test flight of the Starship rocket from its South Texas launch facility on Thursday evening. The Super Heavy booster successfully landed back at a "chopstick"-like tower after liftoff, but the company lost contact with the starship while over the Northern Hemisphere.
